The UAE and Oman have no official camping sites and I was very excited at the idea of pitching our tent wherever we pleased. Giving us the opportunity to try our 4x4 in the sand, we chose Dibba Beach with mountains behind us and the Gulf of Oman in front of us. Although we attempted our first night in the tent, it got really windy later in the evening and we ended up taking refuge in the truck after dropping the tent and securing it with everything and anything heavy.
