A memorable Christmas trip comes to and end

New Years Eve dressed up in a Ghost Busters theme for a pub crawl in Kingsand and Cawsand, a crisp day touring Plymouth and then one night in London to tie up this Christmas trip up in bow.

Feels like Christmas

The cold, crisp weather was a nice change and was balanced by the warm pubs and our kindhearted hosts. After a ferry ride we toured around Looe, went to Pengelly's for some fresh fish, had dinner at The Cross Keys Inn and all the while enjoyed the views around every corner.

Stonehenge

We had a couple months to prepare for our Christmas in the UK so we stocked up on our cold weather clothes, bought winter jackets, heavy stocks etc. One of my fondest memories is being picked up at Heathrow by friends offering warm hugs and hot mulled wine for the long journey to Plymouth. Our drive took us past Stonehenge so we of course had to stop and have a look-see.

From campfire and hot dogs to tea at the Burj Al Arab

Afternoon Tea at the Burj Al Arab is a must when visiting Dubai. To confirm a reservation meant making several phone calls but in the end we secured a table. No longer smelling like campfire we were sipping tea, which was apparently hand-picked by monks, and enjoying fresh scones and cream in this infamous hotel.

Heading home through Muscat

I would have been happy to extend our journey one more night in a new location but my shower-loving travel partners were ready to call it quits and cross the border for city showers and city food. Once we reached Muscat we were ready to stretch our legs and what better way to do that than shopping. We negotiated in the markets, explored the port and had lunch (with more fresh juice) before continuing the long drive home.
