Scorpion camping

One of the most action packed, destructive and funniest camping trips yet. Looking back at these pictures makes me laugh out loud. We didn’t get a picture of the Dukes of Hazard move but for those who saw it will not soon forget.

First camping trip of the 2009/10 season - on our way home

All packed up, a drive through the wadi to get to the main road and above are pictures of things on our way home; a strange house, the usual gas station that looks like a White Castle Burger place, and shops in the town of Masafi.

First camping trip of the season - peace

Prayer time and the sound from the closest mosque bounces off the mountains– very peaceful. It’s getting a bit chilly, tea anyone?

First camping trip of the 09/10 season - testing ground

This will be the perfect testing ground for the new camera, a stunning sunset, a great camping spot and a beautiful fire. No need to worry about strange things going bump in the night as we were being watched over by a stone man on the hill.

First camping trip of the 2009/10 season - how do we do this again?

First camping trip of the season – yay! Will we remember how to do this? What do we bring? There must be a list somewhere . . . where’s the tent? A little climb before sundown and then it’s time to prepare food with fire.

Mad Hatter Party

Throwing a Mad Hatter Tea Party for charity is a lot of fun to be a part of! Decorating muffins, selecting and preparing cockails that included tea, shopping for tea cups, painting larger than human sized flowers, staining paper, making “drink me” and ‘smoke me” tags, creating a gigantic mushroom from a patio table, designing an Alice in Wonderland croquet set complete with flamingos and hedgehogs and the list goes on….

Thank you to Dan and Robyn who hosted this magical scene (inclusive of indoor grass). My tickle-trunk is now a little more full.

A weekend in Dubai

Most people would not travel half-way around the world for a long weekend but Sandra is not most people. Sandra had four full days in Dubai and we packed them solid with camels, shopping, abra rides, special dinners, breakfast al fresco in the marina, the spa, the creek, Burj Al Arab, Atlantis and even camping (yes, in September!).

Bye-bye window

From time to time our building sheds one or two of its windows. Twice, that I know of, these windows have hit vehicles parked below. A little concerned about the construction standards . . .

Heaven and Hell Party

Happy birthday Renee! Wouldn’t miss a theme party! Not wanting to put the costumes to waste, we went to the Cavalli Club after the house party and continued the celebration.
